Today, Americans are more reliant on oil from unstable Middle Eastern nations, gas prices are rising, and in the meantime, oil companies are raking in record multi-billion dollar profits. We must address this energy crisis now. This legislation aims to reduce our dependence on oil by 7 million barrels a day in 20 years. It includes:

The development and mass marketing of hybrid technologies;

More pumps for alternative fuels at gas stations;

Fuel-efficiency standards for trucks;

Tax credits for manufacturers to retool facilities for advanced technology and alternative fuel cars and trucks;
